Growing up poor, I watched my grandmother and our neighbors struggle while resources and help were hard to come by, non-existent, or barely enough. As a single father since the age of 16, I have seen firsthand what accessing resources is like. There are good charities and good people out there; however, people are still in need. I've lost everything before and been homeless with a child. I've been to food banks and seen the low-quality food provided, and I've spoken to others about how slow or broken these systems are. I know firsthand that we can do better!
I've also spent the last decade building companies. Closing contracts, opening offices, hiring teams. In business, you always know where the money went. It's on a screen. Somebody's accountable for every line.
Then I looked at giving. Americans handed over $617 billion last year, more than ever. And year after year, fewer people are giving. Not because they stopped caring. Because they stopped believing it worked. I was one of them. I know what efficiency looks like, and just how much work can be done in a week. I know what can be accomplished, and now I know that the system is broken and the need for DAD is bigger than ever.
Every area of human suffering increases year over year. The problem isn't generosity. It's delivery. The machinery between your dollar and the work was built before the internet, and the machinery is where the money goes.
So we're building the version that should have existed all along. A non-profit that runs its own programs, tracks every dollar to what it did, and puts it in public where anyone can check. No glossy annual report. No "trust us." Just the record, and massive execution.
You don't have to take our word for it. Watch us. Join us.
